QPSMR Companion uses readable character data layouts for the main project files. In addition, you can view and update these files using Microsoft Notepad, WordPad, or similar editor.

Companion’s QDF files contain all the information about the entries (questions) in your project, these files can be used with either the Companion program or the Classic programs. Tables produced by Companion will be in Excel (OpenXML) format, with a table of contents. However, you can also produce an intermediary CSV file, this you can open with Excel or other spreadsheet program. A CSV file is a readable plain text file where each column is separated by a list separator or delimiter: usually a comma or a tab character.
